Your Oars Are In Danger!

When you store your oars horizontally or leaning on the ground, they’re in danger of damage.  It’s

When you have this many oars, you need a smart solution to store them all neatly!

pretty difficult to pull out your oars from the back of a shelf without causing a cascade off the front. What’s worse is when you step on or trip over them on your way around your rowing shed. They’re prone to getting cracked, paint-scuffed and worn.

That’s exactly why Douglas Lumsden, Founder of SSRS started developing vertical storage solutions after he stumbled over an oar of his own.

The solution? Space Saver Oar Brackets:

Our oar brackets use vertical storage to minimise the space needed for oars in your rowing shed. Using Space Saver’s products you can store 64 oars in a space of only 1m x 1.5m.  That is enough

for 8 Sweep eights or 8 Quadruple Sculls-worth. [The picture shows 5 Space Saver Oar Racks each carrying 16 oars.]

By suspending oars above the ground we found they no longer get stepped on, meaning no more splits, cracks and no handle damage. They’re also individually accessible so you don’t have to push past other equipment to get to the oars you need.  It’s easy finding oars because they’re all in one space and quick to retrieve.

Get your crew on the water faster without a fuss.

We have oar hanging brackets for both sweep and scull oars so they fit your rowing club’s equipment needs.

Our oar brackets are used in the USA Olympic training center!

“Some more oar racks are set up at Cambridgeshire Rowing Association boathouse – “[The oar racks] work and the blades don’t get blown off in the wind (there can be strong winds blowing through the boathouse as doors at both ends are normally open” – Anna-Rosa Gejlsbjerg, Cambridgeshire Rowing Association
