What Does An Olympic Boathouse Look Like?

With the Olympics kicking off this weekend, we thought it would be nice to take a look inside one of the facilities these world class athletes call home for their Olympic preparations.

One of the most impressive facilities you will ever see: the 33,000sq/ft $10m Devon Boathouse is the official training center for US Rowing Team and has been used to prepare ahead of Rio 2016.

The boathouse features a high performance training center (complete with a full suite of cardio equipment and dynamic resistance training gear, high tech cameras and technique observation tools) dynamic propulsion rowing and swimming tanks, state-of-the-art altitude chamber (up to an altitude of 12,000ft), an Olympic style weight room (also with camera and video technology for monitoring technique, as well as housing 50 ergometers and up to 100 boats.

The Boathouse, situated in Oklahoma, is the perfect central point for the national team to unite from their various bases around the country.
